Moving towards the higher end of the photo Inkjet range from Epson we have the R340. This inkjet printer features an individual 6 ink system, to provide you with great picture quality with subtle tones and an economical cartridge system. Only replace the colour that runs out. While buying 6 cartridges may seem expensive, in the long term it works out better as you have to change them far less often than the tradition multi colour cartridge system. Print speeds are slightly slower than that of the R240 this will be down to the extra colours used for the enhanced detail. But by no means is the R340 slow. At 15ppm in economy mode and 57 seconds for 10x15cm full photo print, the speeds are more than acceptable. The Epson Stylus R340 comes equipped with a 2.4 inch LCD screen to easily see what pictures your printing without the need to have your PC switched on or connected making printing your home photos quick and hassle free. Simply connect your PictBridge camera directly to the R340 if your digital camera is PictBridge enabled or insert your memory card into the card reader built into the R340. Both ways offer an ease of use and the ability to see the pictures on the LCD screen before you print. Competition in the home digital photo printing market has drove the prices of photo printers right down.
